For years I have watched my mother struggle with the cost of living alone in the great city of Austin, TX. The place she called home for over 40 years slowly priced her out year over year. With corporate greed skyrocketing rent prices, I decided to try something different. I bought my mom a house. I got tired of watching her pinch pennies just to come up short, and I know she is not alone. 

I have learned a lot helping my mom find "affordable housing" over the last decade. Most importantly that even "affordable" housing, is not affordable for people on fixed incomes. I am hoping to start an affordable housing initiative that puts women 50+ in shared living situations to reduce the cost of living, rebuild a sense of community in their silver years, and promote overall well-being through meaningful connection in a fabulous space.
